Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website and visit ART Clinic with ease, whatever their needs. This statement covers both.
The standard we are working towards
Our aim is for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard widely used to judge whether a site works for people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments. We have designed the new site with that standard in mind and are working towards it; the site has not yet been independently audited.
What you can expect from this website
Keyboard navigation. Menus, links and buttons can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are.
Text resizing. You can enlarge text to 200% in your browser and still read every page without content being lost.
Descriptive alternative text. Photographs carry a written description for screen-reader users, and purely decorative images are hidden from them.
Colour contrast. Text and backgrounds are chosen to be readable, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
Captions. Our patient films carry captions.
A consistent layout. Headings, menus and links sit in the same places and follow the same order on every page.
Where the site falls short
Online booking, and the form for written enquiries on the Contact page, come from Pabau, our practice-management system, and run on Pabau's own technology. We cannot change how they behave, so some features may not work as well with assistive technology as the rest of the site. If you have any difficulty with either, please telephone us on 020 3355 2030 and we will book your appointment or take your enquiry by phone.
Asking for help or reporting a problem
If you need anything on this website in a different format, such as large print, an easy-read version or a document you can use with a screen reader, or if you come across a part of the site you cannot use, please tell us. Email info@art-clinic.co.uk, or call reception on 020 3355 2030, and mention the page and the difficulty you met.
We will reply within 5 working days and let you know how and when we will provide what you need.
Visiting the clinic
Under the Equality Act 2010 we make reasonable adjustments so that disabled patients can use our services. If anything would make your consultation or treatment easier, such as a longer appointment, a quieter time of day, someone accompanying you or written information in another format, let us know when you book and we will arrange what we reasonably can.
About the building: please call us before your visit and we will talk you through the entrance, any stairs and the facilities, so you know what to expect when you arrive.
If an access problem is not resolved
Should our reply not resolve an access issue, please make a complaint using our Complaints Policy. For advice about your rights under the Equality Act 2010, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
