Safety & Standards

Aesthetic treatments are medical procedures, and at ART Clinic they are run like any other part of medicine. Below is what that means in practice, step by step: who holds each treatment, where every product comes from, how consent works, and how we look after you once you have gone home.

Who carries out each treatment

ART Clinic is doctor-led: Dr Priya Verma founded it and is its medical director. Consultations are with one of our doctors, Dr Priya or Dr Michelle Emett; for LPG Endermologie, the consultation is a telephone call with our nurse, Marita Andrews. From there, each treatment is carried out by the practitioner whose training fits it.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Dermal Fillers

Biostimulators

Skin Boosters

Polynucleotides

Our doctors, Dr Priya Verma and Dr Michelle Emett.

Injecting the face calls for a detailed knowledge of its anatomy (where vessels and nerves run, and at what depth), and these are the treatments where that knowledge counts for most.

Endolift® Face

Endolift® Body

Dr Priya Verma, one of the UK's earliest Endolift® practitioners and an international Endolift® trainer, and Dr Michelle Emett, who was taught the technique by Dr Priya personally.

Each of these practitioners has been trained by Dr Priya, so every safeguard that follows is applied in the same way, whichever of us you see.

Meet the team

Prescription-only medicines are prescribed in person

Botulinum toxin, the medicine used in anti-wrinkle injections, is prescription-only in the UK. At ART Clinic it is prescribed by one of our doctors, and only once that prescriber has examined you in the clinic. The prescription is written for you by name, for the areas agreed at your assessment.

A virtual consultation is a good way to start a conversation with us from a distance, and many patients from outside London use it. Anti-wrinkle injections can be written into the treatment plan you agree on that call. The prescription for them waits until you are seen face to face, and is never issued over a video call or by message.

Where every product comes from

Every medicine and injectable used at ART Clinic is bought from the manufacturer or a UK-registered pharmacy or wholesaler, delivered to the clinic and stored as its maker specifies, including refrigeration where that is required. Nothing is bought from an unregulated online seller or brought in by a patient.

Each product's name, batch number and expiry date go into your clinical record at the time of treatment. If a maker ever issues a notice about a batch, we can tell straight away which patients received it.

Consent, and time to decide

Consent at ART Clinic is a conversation before it is a signature. Your practitioner goes through what the treatment is expected to do, how you are likely to feel in the days after, the common effects and the rare ones, and the other options open to you. You sign only when every question has been answered, and you can change your mind at any point, including on the day.

There is no deadline on a treatment plan. Where a treatment can go ahead on the day of your consultation, it does so only when you are sure. Many patients prefer to go home and think it over first, and your plan will still be there when you come back.

Clinical photographs are taken before treatment and at review, so that change is measured rather than guessed. They stay in your confidential record. None is ever shown outside the clinic unless you have given separate permission for that particular use.

After you leave

Most people go straight back to their day after treatment. Before you go, your practitioner talks you through what is normal for the treatment you have had and what to do in the first few days, and you take the same advice home in writing.

A follow-up is part of the plan. It is a chance to check the result and to ask anything that has come up since.

Prepared for the rare complication

Most side effects of aesthetic treatment are mild, such as a little redness, swelling or a small bruise, and they settle by themselves within days. Serious complications are uncommon. Being ready for them all the same is simply part of doing the work properly.

On site

Hyaluronidase, which dissolves hyaluronic acid filler, and emergency medicines for an allergic reaction, kept in date and checked on a set schedule.

Training

Every practitioner trained in basic life support and in recognising and managing anaphylaxis, refreshed each year.

A written plan

ART Clinic's complications protocol, based on published UK guidance, covering who is called, how quickly a patient is seen and when a hospital referral is made.

Care that follows through

A patient with a complication is seen by one of our doctors.

Registration and memberships

ART Clinic's doctors are registered with the General Medical Council, and our nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council: the regulators that set, and enforce, the standards every UK doctor and nurse must meet.

Dr Priya Verma belongs to two professional bodies in this field: BCAM, the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, and JCCP, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners. Both work to raise standards of training, safety and regulation in non-surgical aesthetics, and membership commits her to their codes of practice.

ART Clinic has held Save Face accreditation since 2025, with Dr Priya as the clinic's accredited practitioner. Save Face keeps a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, and a clinic earns its place on it by passing a 116-point inspection.

About our Save Face accreditation

Every practitioner holds medical indemnity cover for the treatments they carry out.
